HUNTING IS CRUEL AND UNNECESSARY

Every so often I come across some idiot bragging about hunting, or I see one of those hillbilly trucks driving around town, you know one of those big trucks with hunting stickers all over it, and the guy driving has on his camo and the guy always has a cheek full of chew which he likes to spit out the window -I guess he is ready for any critter to cross his path so he can kill it. I can’t even tell you the hatred I feel for these people. I heard a story from someone that made me so angry so I am going to vent.

Then there are those idiots who say they are just controlling the population, that is bull! Nature takes care of all of that. The world is overpopulated, should we all go out and kill people just to control the population? Hunting disrupts migration and hibernation patterns in animals. In animals like wolves who mate for life and live in family units, so when one of their family members are killed or maimed their family unit is devastated,just like it is with humans, animals have feelings no matter what you may think. Hunting has contributed to the extinction of many and it is time these people grew up and stopped killing animals.

Others insist it is a sport-what a sick sport, to go out and hide in the woods just to hurt some unsuspecting animal-why don’t you people play golf or something?! Go to the grocery store and buy meat there is no reason to get out your guns and bow and arrows and traps anymore, this is 2009 people,start living for today.

Hunting was a means of survival 10,000 or so years ago. Today we have grocery stores on every corner and there is no need to go out and kill some helpless animal. Every year many animals suffer prolonged and painful deaths, because they weren’t killed, only injured only to suffer, how on earth can these people sit there and watch a living thing suffer?

Canned hunting is another sick “sport” this is where the rich people pay for an animal to be killed, they are given maps and the animal has no place to hide because the animal is not native to the area, there is no hunt involved here, these people just want to watch something die or be in pain. Dick Cheney was involved in the canned hunt of quail which led to one of the members of his group being shot. Ted Turner is another one of these sick individuals, he leases out his land for these canned hunters-where they kill bison,african antelopes and turkey.

There is also that other group that just want to kill something just to have it stuffed and hung on their walls, these people’s idea of decorating is putting up a dead carcass up on the wall-demented.

I for one personally think that these people have serious mental issues and are frightening. Anyone who takes some sick pleasure in the trapping,killing or you also have those who just want to hurt something has mental problems and should seek help. Violence is obviously what makes these people tick. Sorry for this rant but, I am so angry!

I love watching animals and I appreciate them, I get excited watching a deer grazing in the grass with his family surrounding him. or when I see a groundhog walking around in the tall grass, or hearing the birds chirp, raccoons getting into someones trash and looking happy. I look forward to every spring when the ducks and geese walk around with their babies. I could watch animals for hours-they are a very important part of my life. I have taught my children to respect animals and they do, I am very proud of them. My husband is also an animal lover.

I have had family members and friends go out and hunt and I must say I lose respect for them as human beings. I just cant see how someone would want to hurt something so beautiful yet helpless. How can people be so cruel.

The beauty is all around you take a few minutes out of your day and just watch-it brings happiness to the heart.
